Swetha began learning the divine art of Bharathanatyam at the age of 3 under the tutelage of her mother and guru Smt. Nirothini Pararajasingam of Niro Dance Creations. At the age of 7 Swetha was granted the blessed opportunity to perform at Chidambaram Temple, and upon completing her Bharathanatya Arangetram at age 11, she continued to grow and explore her passion for this intricate art form with participation in several performances and productions in Toronto. Swetha has taken part in several commendable stages in Toronto including fundraisers for reputable organizations such as the Scarborough Hospital Foundation and SickKids Foundation, and more recently, Harvard Tamil Chair and Toronto Tamil Chair as well. In 2017, Swetha staged her first solo repertoire in Toronto to fundraise for the Harvard Tamil Chair and was granted the role of Global Ambassador for this prestigious initiative. In January 2020, Swetha was given the opportunity to perform a complete solo repertoire in Chennai, India for the Sumedha production under the guidance of guru Madurai R. Muralidharan.

Swetha is a coordinator and choreographer with Niro Dance Creations as well. In addition to excelling her craft in Bharathanatyam, Swetha has a strong passion for expanding her versatility in the field of dance where she explores Bollywood, Contemporary, Gaana, and Hip-Hop. Swetha has participated in the North American Cultural Show in her first year of university alongside the McMaster team and has been one of the head choreographers for the McMaster Tamil dance teams for the past 4 years. Aside from her passion and active participation in the field of dance, Swetha has completed her Bachelor of Science from McMaster University and was the President of the Tamil Students’ Association in her final year. She is currently an MBA candidate at McMaster and is currently working with the Canadian Mental Health Association in corporate services. Swetha’s passion and thrive to grow as a performer and artist is limitless and she hopes to continue to learn and share the divinity of her craft with art-lovers all over the world.
